Krazy Kat, a cartoon by George Herriman, ran in Hearst newspapers throughout the country from 1915 to 1944. In this project we see how Herriman's Coconino County takes shape and changes shape (quite literally, as scenery changes inexplicably from one cell to another) in the turbulent and equally dynamic 1930's. This page is a cartoon essay. The pages that follow are three of Herriman's cartoons from 1935 to 1936.
