Synoptic Journal Hypertext
The Synoptic Hypertext of a journal should consist of the following elements:
- a HomePage for the journal, featuring an identifying icon, preferably an image of the journal's
cover and links to:
mission statement (if available);
- current editorial board;
- links to tables of contents for each issue to be presented.
A HomePage for each journal issue including:
- an image of the journals table of contents for that issue;
- links to brief (200-250 word) synopses of each essay-length essay in that issue. In each
synopses, the challenge is to provide a clear, economical summary of the author's argument,
including his/her own notion of its significance to the reader.
