far away....Kenner Toys, building on

the popularity of the 1977 blockbuster

film Star Wars, designed a line of toy figures

that revolutionized the boys' toy industry. Kenner's

new 'action figures' dominated the market and influenced

every major toy company. Culturally, the figures completely

altered the play patterns and interactions between child and toy

figure. Today, once again supported by the re-release of the Star

Wars trilogy, Kenner's new line of action figures, while different from those

of the 1970's, continues to influence both the toy industry and people everywhere...
