The Yellow Pages -- Geography

Geography and Map Reading Room at The Library of Congress
The Library of Congress delivers again -- this time with searchable map collections spanning the years of 1544-1999.

The CIA's World Factbook
Perhaps the most comprehensive resource on the web. Provides a profile of each country, including information on its geography, people, government, climate and economy. Updated annually.

Geography Network
A great collection of maps and geographical data. World maps, satellite images, elevation data and street maps are among the most interesting and helpful resources.

National Science Foundation Geosciences Unidata Integrated Earth Information Server
Graphics-heavy site with satellite, atmospheric, and weather maps. Includes a mapping project for a consortium of participating universities. Interactive site, linking to each of the contributing universities and other satellite imaging servers.

Maps, articles and photography--a great all-around resource for anyone.

National Geographic Xpeditions
Xpeditions features atlases, forums, lesson plans, links, and a rather peculiar and annoying virtual "Xpedition Hall."
