From the Astor description: "RUINS OF THE GREAT COUNCIL HOUSE OF THE SENECAS. This structure was built of heavy logs. All assemblages of the Senecas took place in it."

Tribes represented in the Iroquois Room according to the hotel included the Iroquois, the Wyandot, the Huron, the Cherokee, the Erie, the Nottawa, the Mohawk, the Onondaga, the Oneida, the Seneca, the Cayuga and the Tuscarora.
