“Butch-Wax Baby”

I’m her little Butch-wax Baby

I’m her little Butch-wax Boy

Who would think my flat-top haircut

Could bring my girl so much joy

I’ve got my comb in the back of my jeans

Though with this hair I never go wrong

A good dose of Dr. Z’s Butch-Wax

Keeps my head all stiff and strong

My little steady’s never seen anything like it

How I can keep it up all day long

I’m her little Butch-wax Baby

I’m her little Butch-wax Boy

My sweet, sweet Suzy plays with my hair

Just like it’s a brand new toy

She strokes it and she strokes it

But my ‘do just won’t go down

Even in Chevy with her top

Off, riding all over the town

Sometimes my locks do go limp

But they pop up to erase her frown

I’m her little Butch-wax Baby

I’m her little Butch-wax Boy

She says the way it stays up

Is just like a steady buoy

But then, last night, I saw her

Dancing with some long-haired freak

She was caressing his floppy curls

She had her hands all over that geek

Oh my hair just lost its gumption

Yeah I lost my little peak

I was her Butch-wax Baby

I was her Butch-wax Boy

Oh but now she’s running around town

With that old mop-top Roy
