1980-present Freelance Writer and Editor: Alumni materials, Annual reports, Articles, Books, Brochures, Corporate histories and reports, Design elements, Ghostwriting, Marketing materials and strategies, Patient education materials, Press releases, Speeches, Writing Workshops, etc. Full-time freelancing since 1986.
1986-1990 Writing Consultant, Henrico County Schools, VA: Assessed strengths and weaknesses of county-wide writing program. Edited more than 3,000 student essays and business letters. Summarized findings annually. Made recommendations for revising curriculum. Conducted teachers' workshops. Co-authored manual of writing guidelines.
1988-1989 Writer-in-Residence, Hanover County Schools, VA: Conducted fiction writing workshops, grades 4-12. Edited student fiction and poetry collection.
1984-1986 School Administrator, The Richmond Ballet, VA: Public relations. Wrote all brochures, press releases, and ads for the school. Served as parent-teacher liaison. Designed and implemented updated accounting systems and fee structure. Supervised seven employees.
