Menus
These menus are from Red Hot & Blue, a Memphis-style
barbecue place with several restaurants in the Washington, D.C.
area, and one in Chapel Hill, N.C.
This logo is from Bullock's Barbecue, a great restaurant in
Durham, N.C. They serve chopped and sliced pork barbecue, as
well as wonderful side dishes. Crook's Corner, a famous
Southern-style restaurant in Chapel Hill, also serves Bullock's
barbecue (as is duly noted on their menu).
Andy Nelson's Southern Pit Barbecue serves pulled pork, pulled
chicken, and chopped beef barbecue. This range of styles is a
bit suspect, especially since Andy's bills its BBQ sandwiches as
"sa'm'wiches." The restaurant's motto, however, is a redeeming
aspect-- "Hogs Smell Better Barbecued."
Pig-Out's delivers ribs, pulled pork and chicken wings.
If in Chapel Hill, go to Dip's. They serve good barbecue as
well as carefully prepared side dishes and seafood in a
wonderfully casual atmosphere. Their prices are reasonable,
too.
Since Porky's Palace closed its doors, Lizzard Lick's has
captured the prize for most creatively named barbecue joint in
Durham, N.C. Their vegetables are canned, but the barbecue is
good and plentiful.
