The original 1751 edition of The Life of Harriot Stuart consists of two volumes, with no chapters and extremely long paragraphs. This version, for ease of loading and reading on the web, divides each volume into ten chapters.

In addition, punctuation and spelling have been standardized -- and in some cases modernized -- with the exception of verse. Any comments on the text can be made to mro2x@virginia.edu.
