3     Antagonism and rivalry between the four brothers and the Prince of the Center, hardly explicit in Ibonia, are more so, Ottino points out, in Dahle's tale Rabeninimiehaka namoakany zanany hanambady (313-22), in which a proud father assigns suitor tests to prevent his daughter from marrying. "When on one occasion, they say, the four Andriambahoaka [Princes of the People] came toget her, having come from the four corners of the earth, they talked of nothing but Rabeninimiehaka and his family, and all four vilified them" (Dahle, Specimens, 317; Ottino, L'Etrangˇre, 408).
