These ads don't cohere very explicitly and coherently, but they all display a new attitude toward the reading viewer, no longer the hard sell, but a new self-conscious, cynical mockery of advertising itself. They position the viewer somehow "above" the old arena of simple product-pushing, into cool high ground from which the old square way of advertising can be mocked.
