9/17: Research on the Web -- Alderman Classroom
Before class, please familiarize yourself with The Yellow Pages a selective guide to electronic resources in American Studies.
After class, install on your home page links to subordinate pages for 1) American Studies Resources and 2) Technical Resources. These will be the places where you can build your resource base and toolkit for doing American Studies over the next two years.
9/24: HTML -- Bryan 203
In class, we'll go over the basic HTML tags; I'll provide each of you with a piece of ascii-text which you should markup in HTML and post to your homepage.
10/1: Scanning Text and Images -- Electronic Text Center
Early in the week I will post on the door of my office a list of essays and images; choose the texts and images you want to work with by initialling the list in the appropriate places. Bring your text and images to the Electronic Text Center on Wednesday.
Bring the scanned texts and images to the Lab; if possible, you should already have converted them and posted them on your homepage.
