The Eagle Spreads Its Wings
Images of the Eagle in Cast-Iron and Brass

Cast iron eagles are numerous and diverse in character. They range from such small objects as a delicately molded pin tray and a mechanical bank in the form of an eagle feeding its young to a majestic creature with a wingspan of sixty-five inches, once used as a sign. Furniture mounts, and particularly the finials of clocks, featured many types of brass eagles.
