Here I have collected a small sampling of the projects and papers I've done in school over the years. I've focused mostly on various themes within the broad rubric of "American culture." Projects such as "Conflicts in Cosmopolitanism" and "It's the Booze Talkin'" investigate some deep-seeded historical issues involved in our polyglot American society. Other projects like "Viewing America's Pastime" and "More than
Malt, Hops, Water and Yeast" look at aspects of American leisure in the latter half of the twentieth century.
Initially created as I moved towards completion
of my Master's Degree, I've made these projects
available to show how some of the dynamic aspects
of the Web can enhance and punctuate content more
than pure text. I hope that my projects, like
the rest of the material at xroads.virginia.edu,
reinforce the idea that the Web is a valuable
tool for creating widely accessible, informative,
and educational content.
Since graduate school, I've spent my career developing
and editing content for a variety of candidates
for political office and political causes. This
experience has allowed me a public sphere in which
I can promote and advocate for political causes
through email campaigns and focused site content.
The work I currently do, and have done in the
past, has prepared me to write, edit, manage and
develop the web as a primary medium for informational,
educational and promotional content and allowed
me to broaden my skills as I continute to grow
and learn.
Please enjoy.
