Swaps
Heather’s Swap
Heather is hosting a swap for people who
make M&P or CP.
Swap Deadline: April 15
Number of soaps: 2 scented
soaps
You'll be divided into groups of 6, and
given one address for another member of that group. All you have
to do is send your package of two soaps to that address, and you will receive
a package from another member of that group. Very simple, and the only
cost is mailing one package.
To join: e-mail Heather at
teddi@hotmail.com
If you are going to be hosting a
swap in May please e-mail me at nfield1@maine.rr.com and I will
put it in the Newsletter.
What is a swap?
Swaps are made up of groups of people who
want to trade certain items. The items that are swapped in this circle
(soapnuts members) are usually soaps, lip balms, lotions, bath salts, bath
bombs, bath oils, and other toiletry items. Swaps are usually organized
by one person who is called the host. The host decides the theme
for the swap, how many people can enter the swap, when the swap will close,
and how much the shipping charge will be. All those who enter the
swap send their packages to the host. He or she is also in charge
of repackaging and shipping the items to the swap members.
Here is an example of a swap.
Let's say that Holli decides to host a
swap. She will set the standards for the swap. Ten people enter
the swap including Holli. The theme for this swap is “Spring Time”
soaps. I enter the swap and send Holli nine soaps by the deadline
that she has set. When Holli gets all of the swap boxes from the
other nine members (including herself) she will put one bar of each person's
soap in my swap box. Holli will then fill all the other swap boxes
with one bar of soap from each of the other swap members. She will
then mail all of the swap boxes.
If you would like to host a swap, please
contact Becky (List Mom) before you post to the list.
Nicolle’s Toiletries Swap
I had the pleasure of hosting a toiletries
swap that closed in the last week of February. My swap was a “Toiletries”
swap. In the end the swap had 13 members total including myself.
This was a wonderful chance for me to see what everyone else makes.
The creativity and talent in this group amazed me. Here are the descriptions
of what I got.
Jayne G. sent Lilac Body Powder.
She packaged her powder in fancy glass salt and pepper shakers. This
power not only smells wonderful, but it feels wonderful too. For
more information please contact Northbound Nature Products at mj7361@pathwaynet.com
Sue S. sent fragrant bath salts,
lotion bars, and melt and pour soaps. Her soaps were all works of
art. For more information please contact Sue at crafter@hotmail.com
Helen P. sent all natural perfumes
in cobalt blue bottles. The perfumes all smelled wonderful, and Helen’s
creative packaging just makes them even better. She used wrapping
paper with shrink-wrap around the bottles to add color. For more
information please contact Serenity Gardens at 1handmadesoap@soapmakers.zzn.com
Kimberly T. sent a very generous
box that contained green cellophane bags containing lilac bath salts, lilac
fizzy bath bombs, and lavender herbal teas. All of these items are
to die for. The lilac FO that was used smells wonderful. Thank
you for you generosity Kimberly. For more information please contact
Simply Homemade at kimber10@gfherald.infi.net
Peg F. sent bath oils and lovely
little tea lights to go with them. She used glass bottles to package
with cork tops to package her oils. The candles and the oils both
smell wonderful. Peg calls this fragrance Beauty Night. For
more information please contact Peg’s Place 4 Bath at p_frye@yahoo.com
Jane N. sent full sized jars of
hand and body lotion. This lotion smells and feels wonderful. I've
been using this lotion every since I opened her swap box. It makes
my hands feel soft and not greasy. For more information please contact
Texas Tumbleweed Soap Company at NanaNich@aol.com
Becky E. (List Mom) sent overnight
intensive foot treatment, message bars, and bath fizzies. It was
hard choosing what to keep. The message bars smelled yummy, and the
foot treatment works wonders on my winter feet. The foot treatments
were also packaged in cool round tubs. Hey, where did you get these
anyway? For more information please contact the Country Petaler at
becnbrat@yahoo.com
Holli M. (AKA the Hollinator) sent
wax tarts and hot pads. The wax tarts were all different spicy fragrances
and looked very cute. The colorful cloth used to make the hot pads
looked great. They smelled amazing. For more information please
contact the Hollinator at mmccarty@mail.iswt.com
Camille P. sent loofah bath
scrubbies and milk baths. What a neat idea you had Camille.
The loofah bath scrubbies were made of sections of loofah with soap poured
over them. These items smelled wonderful and were packaged in beautiful
floral cotton material. For more information please contact Camille
at hericane@ix.netcom.com
Kathy E. sent mussie tussie bags
and lotion scented with her famous voodoo berry fragrance. Yes this
is the same fragrance that everyone is going crazy over. She is now
selling her famous fragrance so now is your chance. Her mussie tussie
bags smelled wonderfully citrusy. For more information please contact
Kit-Kath Bath at kithkath@hotmail.com
Teresa S. sent lotion bars and lip
balms. Her packaging and her items were both fantastic. She
used containers that looked like glue stick containers for her lotion bars.
Her lip balms were packaged in plastic tubs that actually had safety seals.
For more information please contact Teresa at strickts@logicsouth.com
Beki L. sent bath bombs. She
used the coolest pink foil to wrap these bombs. These heart shaped
bombs smell yummy. I can't wait to use mine. For more information
please contact Designs of the Heart at bekisl@yahoo.com
Nicolle F. (swap host) sent luscious
lip balms. I used tins and tubes to package these. I made these
balms from my own recipe. For more information please contact Keirstan’s
Bubbles at nfield1@maine.rr.com
